A 30 year old man was arrested following a police pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle yesterday evening

Police were made aware a grey VW Golf which had been stolen in a burglary in Warrington on 4 May was being driven on County Road in the direction of Rice Lane at around 10.40pm.

Officers, supported by the National police Air Service, began a pursuit of the vehicle.

Two occupants of the vehicle got out of the car on Hooton Road and the car travelled from Rice Lane in the direction of Kirkby, before coming to stop on Outer Forum in Norris Green at around 10.50pm.

A 30-year-old man from Walton was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and drug driving. He was taken to a police station in Merseyside to be interviewed.
