Three men will appear before Liverpool magistrates today charged in connection with a firearms incident in Smithdown Road, Allerton on Monday, 4 December.

26-year-old Kieran Eves from Carriage Close, Hale, Widnes was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of cannabis.

30-year-old Michael Eves from Edenhall Drive, Halewood was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

24-year-old Michael Rice from Moses Street, Toxteth was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

All three people had been arrested following a stop-check of a car in south Liverpool .

 Officers stopped an Audi car at just after 1pm on Smithdown Road in Allerton. Three males in the car were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and were taken to police stations for questioning. 

A search of the car uncovered a suspected handgun which has been recovered for forensic examination.
