A 49 year old man from Birkenhead has been found guilty of sexual assault following an incident in the showers at the Europa Pools in the town centre
Son Hoang, of Pine Court, had pleaded not guilty to attacking a 16-year-old boy at the leisure centre on June 13 last year.
The teenager was already taking a shower when Hoang walked into the multi-person cubiclesThe court heard that without saying a word, Hoang had suddenly grabbed at the boy who pushed him away and demanded to know what he was doing
The youngster told his mother about the incident and police arrested Hoang who protested that the teenager had in fact been the one who was behaving a sexual way
Hoang was found guilty of sexual assault and remanded on bail until May 6 when a pre-sentence report would be available .Miss Recorder Tania Griffiths told Hoang he must not approach any male under the age of 16 or go in any public showers or changing rooms.
He is also barred from working with young people and must sign on the Sex Offenders Register.
